Javadoc

Return a new array which is the split of the given array using the given divider ignoring the text between (possibly nested) openEncl and closingEncl. If there are no openEncl in the code this is identical to CharOperation#splitOn(char,char[],int,int). The given end is exclusive and the given start is inclusive.

For example:
  1.
    divider = ','
    array = { 'A' , '', ',', 'D' }
    start = 0
    end = 8
    result => { {  'A' , ''}, { 'D' }}
